We’re always excited to hear about new businesses opening storefronts in Detroit, and we’ve heard a lot of that around Eastern Market this past year. With the new opening of Well Done Goods by Cyberoptix, and more coming soon, we thought it might be a good time to stroll down one of our favorite blocks in the city.
The 1400 blocks of Gratiot are very different depending on what side of the street you’re looking. On the northwest side, there’s a combination of hardware stores, grocers, and retail that’s been there for years.

On the southeast side, we have older buildings with art deco designs that house artists lofts, restaurants, retail, coffee, and art.

The latest addition to the block is Well Done Goods, which will have men’s and women’s accessories and Cyberoptix ties. Cyberoptix prints their accessories in the 4,000-square-foot facility directly above their storefront. As you can see from the pictures, the store has handmade home-goods, vintage and scientific gifts, barware, ceramics, terrariums, raw stone jewelry, and merchandise from designers around the world.
And here’s a stroll down the block, where you can see the combination of old, new, and more to come.
