Retailer and super Detroit resource Pure Detroit is opening their 5th retail location in the city. This one is located right in Midtown in the newly renovated Strathmore Apartments.
They’ll be open for a sneak preview on Noel Night, December 3.
While the retailer sells all sorts of Detroit goods, this location will debut a home lighting line by Leadhead Glass, plus special edition Spirit of Detroit seatbelt handbags.
The store interior features a Vernors gnome porcelain enamel sign from the former Vernors bottling plant, interior murals by artist Will Bevan, and marquee letters from the former Adams Theater. Here’s a sneak peek.

The Strathmore is located at 70 W. Alexandrine, right off of Woodward across from Great Lakes Coffee. The former hotel, built in 1924, reopened this summer after a $28 million renovation. The converted building now has 129 residential rental units, a ground floor restaurant space, and adjacent retail space.
