Which neighborhood should advance to the second round?

University District

It seems like every other week, we’ve seen houses flipped in the University District, a strong community with beautiful housing stock. We’ve also seen new restaurants opening along the Avenue of Fashion, new bike lanes along Livernois, and increased efforts in revitalization in the surrounding areas. Why is this such a great neighborhood? Here’s one reader comment: “University District is my favorite neighborhood! The homes are beautiful, the neighbors truly care about you, we've been seeing a lot of beautiful renovations popping up over the last summer and Livernois is improving and growing all the time especially with the new Live6 Detroit initiative there!”

A great Tudor for sale earlier this year

Grandmont Rosedale won the Curbed Cup a few years back, beating downtown Detroit. How does a neighborhood win over the most talked about areas in the city? A strong community rallied behind this cluster of NW neighborhoods, which has a mix of modest and large single family homes. We’ve seen some listings (with one big one), recent revitalization news, plus an expansion of Detroit Vegan Soul into the neighborhood (soon!). Can this neighborhood rally again for a Curbed Cup win?
