Last week, we took a look around the city to show what’s for sale for under $115K (it was going to be $125K, but we didn’t need to go that high). This week, we’re dreaming a little bigger and raising our budget to $250,000. What’s for sale right now in Detroit? Here are a few properties to consider.
This house seems to want to leave us guessing. It’s located in Indian Village on Burns near Mack and it’s only including one blurry picture. It has 3,500 square feet and says that rehabbers are wanted! It does have a new roof, windows, and hardwood floors. It’s listing for $249,000.
This one is an insanely beautiful house in Boston Edison that we featured a few weeks ago. It needs work, of course, but can you imagine it restored to its original beauty? We thought it could be under contract, but it’s showing as active again. It’s 3,500 square feet with a fountain, an awkward kitchen, and oh so much potential. It’s yours for $200,000 (plus renovation costs, which could be a lot). Anyone looking for an ongoing project?
Maybe you’re not looking for a big rehab project or any work at all. There’s a co-op available at 1300 Lafayette for $210,000 with $1,948 in HOA fees. OK, yes, those are high (they cover heat, A/C, taxes, water, basic cable, principal and interest on master mortgage). This unit is on the 13th floor and has three bedrooms and two full baths. Not bad!
Or maybe you want to live close to the QLINE, the DIA, Wayne State, and New Center. There’s a one-bedroom condo available in the Park Shelton for $229,800, with $494/month in HOA fees. It’s a cozy 905 square feet, with hardwood floors, a pretty fireplace that doesn’t work, and two full bathrooms.
If you’re looking for a house that’s move-in ready, here’s a recently renovated one located on La Salle. It has five bedrooms, a backyard, a Pewabic tile fireplace, and it’s located just outside Boston Edison. The price? $225,000.
