Rent this 91-year-old fire station, yours for $2,000 a month

New, 6 comments

Update: This post was originally published December 27, 2016 and has been updated with new pricing.

Drawn to the allure of old fire stations? Engine No. 21 was built in 1926 and has been vacant since 2012. It’s currently being renovated, zoned for commercial use, and looking for a new tenant on the first floor. Could it be you?

The first floor of this handsome station looks to have both smaller office space and larger rooms (garages) with the fire truck doors. It’s 2,500 square feet, with about 500 square feet of that for office space. The tiling is in tact throughout much of the space, and big archways connect the rooms. Some wood paneling and beams still line the smaller rooms. Exterior parking can fit about ten cars. The station is located near the corner of Linwood and Calvert, near the Boston Edison District. It’s listed through O’Connor Realty for $2,000 a month. Take a look around and tell us what you think could be a good fit for this space.
