The Curbed Cup 2016 is coming! Name Detroit’s best neighborhood!

It is time.

After a lengthy hiatus, the Curbed Cup is back and it’s time for you, dear readers, to tell us what the best neighborhood in Detroit is for 2016.

We’ve had some memorable winners in the past, including Ferndale during Detroit’s inaugural Curbed Cup. We know y’all love Ferndale, but it’s not actually a neighborhood. This year, we’re going to try to keep it within 8 Mile, just like our 2012 winner Grandmont Rosedale. And we may combine some smaller neighborhoods that are near each other, just to give them a fair shot.

Here’s how this will work. You’re going to comment here or on Facebook or email us your favorite neighborhood in the city. And, ideally, we’d like to hear why it’s your favorite neighborhood. Is it all fancy with restaurants and shops? Has it seen an influx of renovations lately? Does it have the most beautiful homes in the city? Or is it the people that make it a truly great neighborhood? We want to hear!

We’re going to start with 16 next Monday and do a bracket tournament, with neighborhoods facing off against each other. You’ll get to vote for your favorite, and encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to rep your ‘hood.

Which neighborhood will receives this year’s fake trophy and ultimate honor? It’s up to you!
