Vacant Strip Club Gets Demolished for New Micro-Apartments

If you're out and about in downtown today, you can catch the demolition of the former Grind strip club at 1416 Griswold. MLive has a minute and a half video of the destruction, or you can see a bit here.

As reported in December, the new development will house 13 stories of 219 micro-apartments (300-400 square feet apiece) and ground-floor retail. The site of The Grind strip club was damaged by fire in 2014 and purchased by Dan Gilbert's Bedrock Real Estate, which is leading the demo. The new development is expected to be finished in 2017.
