Bedrock Acquires 1900 St. Antoine, New Business to Move In Soon

The building will be redone in time for a new tenant to move in

Dan Gilbert's Bedrock Real Estate announced today that they've purchased 1900 St. Antoine, a five-story office building located adjacent to Ford Field. The limestone, brick, glass, and steel building, built in 2005, is approximately 108,000 square feet. Bedrock also acquired rights to the Ford Field parking deck.

In their statement, Bedrock says the building is currently 11% occupied, but will soon be 100% leased. The building will get "vibrant new finishes to accommodate hundreds of employees of a soon-to-be-announced tenant who has signed a long-term lease for 96,000 square feet."

Who will it be?

The Detroit engineering firm Sigma Associates is the building’s only current tenant, occupying approximately 12,000 square feet on the top floor. Sigma will continue to occupy space in the building.

The building will soon be connected to Detroit-based high-speed internet provider Rocket Fiber, who continues to connect downtown businesses and buildings with their super high-speed service.

"The demand for office space in the Central Business District continues to increase. The acquisition of 1900 St. Antoine provides much-needed space for growing office tenants in the urban core and those that are moving or expanding here," said Jim Ketai, CEO and Managing Partner of Bedrock Real Estate Services. "We are excited to continue investing in Detroit and we look forward to energizing this prominent and strategically located property."

1900 St. Antoine is also close to The Madison Block, a technology hub filled with creative and technology companies and startups, including Google for Entrepreneurs, Microsoft Ventures, Detroit Labs, and Twitter.
