A new all ages music venue is prepping to open its doors soon, and we have the pics of the current renovation underway in Mexicantown.

Graeme Flegenheimer and his father Eric bought the space, formerly the Mexicantown Fiesta Center, on West Vernor in February and have been working to transform it into El Club. One room has the stage and VIP area, while the adjacent room has a bar and kitchen in the back. The property also features a large outdoor area.
Flegenheimer was featured on Curbed LA a few years ago when he transformed a church into an all-ages venue. Unfortunately, he had trouble getting the right permits there. He's had Detroit on his radar for a while, and saw an opportunity to move closer to his family in Saginaw and create a similar vision here.
The outside will be transformed into a patio space, and Flegenheimer is hoping to activate the property next door into an after school art space. For now, El Club has concerts booked into the summer, with the first big show May 19. Here's a look at the space last week.
