Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. Last week, we went overboard and looked at rentals in the $2,000 range. We're coming back down to earth and choosing rentals within $100 of today's price: $750.
This one bedroom, one bath, 550-square-foot apartment on the Gold Coast isn't much to look at inside, but hey, you're right by the river! And you can bike to places easily from here. It comes right in at our price point at $750/month (utilities included).
Next there's a tiny studio at City Place in Lafayette Park. The location sells this one. You're close to downtown, Eastern Market, the Dequindre Cut, and the Riverfront. Studios start at $729/month.
Over in Woodbridge, you can get a 600-square-foot studio in a castle. It's $800 a month with free wifi, a fitness center, and free parking. And look at all that exposed brick, y'all! Not sure if the logo is stamped inside the units or not :)
You can also get 1,000-square-foot apartment in the North End for $650 a month. It has two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a nice porch!
Last, you can get a 1,700-square-foot home in Russell Woods for $795 a month. This house has four bedrooms, one bathroom, a big living space, and is located close to many major roads.
