A few months ago, we showed you a sneak peek at the new Trumbull & Porter Hotel, formerly Corktown Inn. After a six month, $9 million renovation, they're open and we have a more extensive look at inside.

The hotel is open now, but will have a full Grand Opening on Labor Day weekend, after the addition of an onsite restaurant. Rates start at $139/night.

Nearly all the work on the project was locally sourced. ROK Construction Services and Patrick Thompson Design led the renovation. An original mural outside was painted by local Detroit artist Don Kilpatrick and the Detroit Wood Type Company. Custom lighting was designed by Colin Tury. Detroit Bikes has built a small fleet of logoed bikes for guest use. The hotel serves beverages from Crazy Fresh Coffee and Batch Brewing. Each guest room features chairs by Herman Miller, beds and hanging closets by Thompson Millworks, and couches by Grand Rapids Chair.
