If you’ve parked your car in the Z Lot, or wandered behind Punch Bowl Social, you know there’s a lot going on in the Belt Alley these days. The alley, which connects Grand River and Gratiot between Broadway and Library Street, features a lights, murals, restaurants, and a rotating art exhibit called Public Matter.
Futura visited Detroit last week for the opening of his exhibit, New Horizons, in Library Street Collective, which has an entrance from the Belt. Local students from the Detroit Academy of Arts & Sciences were invited Thursday morning to paint Converse shoes and get pointers from Futura. Our photographers were there to capture the event and the new artwork.
