Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. Gather up your friends or family - we've raised the price point for this week. We're looking at rentals within $100 of today's price: $1,600.
First up is this duplex in West Village. It has three bedrooms, one bathroom, big windows, lots of room for storage, and hardwood floors. It’s located near Belle Isle and the Riverfront and just down the street from restaurants and shops. It’s 1,500 square feet, located on a low-traffic street, and listed for $1,500 a month.
Next is this three bedroom, one bath flat in Woodbridge. It has a lot of nice wood trim and french doors, and is located near Wayne State and Midtown. It’s listing for $1,600 per month.
Next is a one bedroom, one bath loft in Midtown. It’s only 850 square feet, but it’s located right on Woodward along the M-1 rail. It’s walking distance from Wayne State and close to the museums. It’s asking for $1,525 per month.
For $1,650, you can get a five bedroom, two bath home right at the border of Boston Edison. It has 2,200 square feet to work with, a nice kitchen, and a finished third floor.
And for $1,500, you can get a whole house in North Corktown. The three bedrooms are air-conditioned (!!!) and this 1,600-square-foot house, built in 1883, is loaded with charm.
