Live in the teachers lounge

Leland Loft Corner Unit Jim Tumey

A few months ago, we featured a unit in the historic Leland Lofts building, a former school listed on the National Register of Historic Places. That unit sold for above asking price, listing for $239,900 and selling for $277,000. This loft is a corner unit with a view and a little more square footage. It’s hitting the market for $525,000.

This one bedroom, one and a half bath, 1,580-square-foot loft was the teachers lounge and art classroom, with the only wood burning fireplace in the building and original storage built-ins with dark wood trim.

The upgraded kitchen has stainless GE Monogram appliances, a wine cooler, a four-burner gas range with grill, warming lights, a reverse osmosis water system, beautiful cabinets, and granite counter tops with a tile backsplash.

The master suite has a jetted Kohler over-flow tub, slate shower, and a stacked washer/dryer.

The building has community gardens, a roof top resident deck, designated storage cages on first floor, and two private garage spaces inside the gated parking lot.

The loft overlooks Lafayette Park and is walkable/bikeable to the Dequindre Cut, Eastern Market, Downtown, and the Riverfront.

The loft is tenant occupied until 9/1/2016. Taxes are $174/year with HOA fees at $250/month. It’s listed by Jim Tumey at the Loft Warehouse (586-419-6271).
