Curbed Comparisons: What Will $700 Rent You in Detroit?

New, 3 comments

These aren’t bad options

Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we're looking at rentals within $100 of today's price: $700.

First, there’s a place available in the quaint little Fourth Street neighborhood. For $745 per month (plus electric) you can live in this artsy little enclave in a castle-like building. It’s walking distance to Wayne State and Tech Town.

For $640 per month, you can get a small apartment in West Village. Located on Van Dyke and Lafayette, there’s a ground floor unit available. Cats and dogs are also allowed.

We also have a one-bedroom in Woodbridge. It has pretty original woodwork, hardwood floors, a big front porch to share with your neighbors, and a small kitchen. It’s located near Wayne State and Midtown. It’s listing for $650 per month (plus electric and heat) and it’s available in August. No pets!

For exactly $700 per month, you can rent this house in Bagley. It’s almost 3,000 square feet (!!!) (can that be right?), with three bedrooms and one and a half baths. It also has a garage and a finished basement.

And for $750 per month, you can get this studio near New Center. Located on the top floor of a house right by the Lodge, this little space has hardwood floors and is right by the Henry Ford Hospital.
