A few weeks ago, we told you about the Demolition Tracker, a tool the city created to see where houses have been and will be demolished in the city. With tens of thousands blighted structures all over the city, the work of tearing them down is vital to Detroit's revitalization. The city has demolished over 9,800 structures since 2014. Now they’ve shared a time lapse video showing two homes right next to each other that were demoed this past month, all to the soundtrack of soothing guitars.
But one thing it certainly shows is how a street can go from being scary and concerning to neighbors to a place that feels much, much safer. Have a look.
