What Can $300K Buy You in Detroit Right Now?

A few good choices

This week, we’re looking at a few places around town to see what a cool $300,000 can buy you in the Motor City. From big, historic homes to updated lofts, here’s what your money can get you right now.

First up, we’ll head over to University District, where you can find many houses around the $300,000 price point (we’ve recently seen this one for $300K, this one for $320K, and this one for $300K). This house comes in at $270,000, which will leave you a little money left over to do some upgrades. It’s 3,200 square feet with five bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. It’s got some curb appeal, and a nice backyard entertaining space.

Next up, we’ll move over to Sherwood Forest and this 2,900-square-foot brick home. It has three bedrooms, two full and two half baths, and a library/den. This property also has a nice back deck and backyard. It’s listing for $269,900.

Next, we’ll go to Midtown, where you can find a 944-square-foot loft right on Canfield. The location is close to restaurants, shops, Wayne State, museums, and the future M-1 rail. It also has gated parking. The HOA fees run $280 per month and the loft is listed for $279,000.

And finally, there’s this $295,000 home in the Joseph Berry Subdivision. It’s been on the market for a while, and we only have one picture. But the listing says the kitchen is right out of a magazine (let’s hope it’s a good magazine)! It has five bedrooms, three and a half baths, and hopefully some more pictures coming soon.
