New app provides guided tour of Belle Isle

Planning on spending some time on Detroit’s famed island park? Wondering about the history of a certain building or monument?

There’s an app for that!

Audio-D Tours has released a free app that serves as a personal tour guide on the island. It’s narrated by Dick Shafran and gives the user information on:

"18 sculptures and monuments, including its world-class fountain

12 historical buildings and structures of architectural interest

5 historically significant locales

4 indoor cultural attractions"

It’s a 2 ¹⁄₂ hour guide that’s good for driving, walking, or biking the island.
