Video: Watch a sneak peek of This Old House in Detroit

This will be fun to follow

A couple months ago, we told you about the renovation of a Russell Woods home that would be featured on PBS’s This Old House. Now we have just a little glimpse inside the 1939 house that was purchased from the Land Bank.

The renovation of the house will air over 10 episodes next spring on PBS. A retired fire fighter and his family recently bought the home at auction. Expected work includes a new roof, kitchen and baths, plus new mechanicals to replace vandalized equipment in the basement. The team will look to preserve historic details such as leaded stained glass windows and archways as the homeowners blend their own touches and personality to the design with the home’s historic details.

The preview says that the program will offer a new perspective on the housing situation in Detroit. Here’s a look.
