Detroit Rent Comparisons: What can $1,800 rent you?

Big spaces, big windows!

Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we're aiming high and looking at rentals within $100 of today's price: $1,800.

The first rental we’re visiting is out in Morningside on Audobon Rd. This recently updated house has four bedrooms, two and a half baths, a finished third floor, a detached garage, and pretty nice curb appeal. There’s also a nice office with tons of built-in shelving. It’s available for $1,800 per month.

Over in Harbortown, there’s a two bedroom condo available for lease for $1,750 per month. It’s on the 9th floor (views!) and has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a washer & dryer. This building also has direct access to the Riverwalk.

This loft in Midtown has enormous windows and is located on Canfield, so it’s walking distance to everything Midtown. It also has a balcony/patio, newer appliances, 12-foot ceilings, and a washer & dryer. It’s listing for $1,750 per month.

This loft in Brush Park has two bedrooms, one and a half baths, a great location, views, and that industrial look everyone loves. It’s listing for $1,825 a month. [Photos by Jim Tumey]

And over in Palmer Park, there’s a 3,000-square-foot condo in an Albert Kahn-designed building. It has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a sun room, and the building was renovated in 2007. It’s right across the street from the park and the building has gated parking. Available in October, it’s listing for $1,700 a month.
