Another development that we haven’t heard from in a while is back in the news, this time with new plans. This one is for the 163-acre State Fairgrounds, which could become a vibrant community development. Someday.
Developers met with the community Thursday to unveil new plans that present more green space, including bike paths and urban gardens. There’s also a multiplex theater, band shell, and still-vague retail and residential.
According to the Detroit News, the developers, including Magic Johnson’s Magic Plus LLC, Redico, and Ferguson Development LLC will hold more community meetings this fall, with hopefully a site plan to city council in early 2017.
