Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we're looking at rentals around the city within $100 of today's price: $900.
First we’re heading to Virginia Park, where you can find a three bedroom, one bathroom, 1,000-square-foot flat for $850 per month. The unit also has a front porch, sun porch, a small kitchen, and storage in the basement. It’s located near the Henry Ford Hospital and the Lodge. Gas and electric are not included and cats are accepted.
This two bedroom, one bath apartment is located on Agnes Street, one block away from Indian Village and a few blocks away from the shops at West Village. It’s pretty no frills and has carpeting. It hopefully comes with a refrigerator! It’s listing for $850 per month, plus gas and electric. No pets allowed.
This house near Pingree Park is huge (for a rental), with five bedrooms and over 1,900 square feet. It’s also super charming, with lots of original detail inside and so much built in storage. It’s coming in at the top of our price range at $1,000 a month. It also has a detached garage. Tenant pays for gas, electric, and alarm system.
We’re not fans of this winter picture of this Green Acres house (don’t remind us of what’s coming in a few months), but the house is close to shopping and restaurants in Ferndale and Detroit. It’s 1,400 square feet, with two bedrooms and additional storage in the basement. It’s renting for $975 per month.
Or maybe you’re looking for a place closer to Wayne State and you don’t need much light. This basement rental near Fourth Street has that for you for $895 per month. It has 1,000 square feet, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and would be great for an artist according to the listing.
