Many Mies van der Rohe co-ops have hit the market in Lafayette Park this year, and almost all of them have sold above asking price. We’ve heard many readers lament about how they should have bought one on the cheap a few years ago. We know. Today we have a new listing that’s pretty much a blank slate for its new owners. It has some recent updates and a motivated seller. It’s listing for below market value at $336,900.
The pictures leave us daydreaming of how we could create a perfect midcentury modern world. The listing says the kitchen has been updated, along with some flooring and carpeting in the upstairs, along with a half bathroom. But there’s plenty of room for the new owner to add their own updates. The co-op is 1,400 square feet, with three bedrooms, one and a half baths, and storage space in the basement. HOA fees are $753 a month, and all questions about Mies co-op living can be answered here. It's being sold through O'Connor Realty. Have a look and tell us what you think. Is that price fair? How would you decorate this co-op?
