Finish renovating this Palmer Woods Tudor, yours for $359K

Redfin

Will this house finally find its forever owner? This big old house on a hill in Palmer Woods was seen on Curbed a few years ago with snowy pictures in August. Hmm. The pictures were gloomy and uninspired and after a while on the market, it had finally seen a price drop. In 2014, it had started with an ask for $425K, which then went down to $399,995. Records show that it was bought in 2015 for $290K, and after some work, it’s looking for the right person to finish the job and live here. The 3,000+ square-foot Tudor is now asking $359,000.

While the photos from 2014 were blurry, dark, and sad, the photos now are at least clearer, so we can get an idea of what the house could be. The listing states, “Phase I is complete with expanded open kitchen floor plan, new door wall, expanded first floor powder room, professional asbestos abatement, walls patched, wood floors prepped for finishing on second floor, second floor bath gutted ready to refinish.” The last time we saw this house, we couldn’t even see how lovely the wood beams were, and they really seem to be a feature here. The dusty bar stools in the basement are kind of sad though; it’s been a while since anyone’s sat there. Will someone make it their dream home?
