Curbed Comparisons: What $1,000 rents you in Detroit right now

There’s an upper flat available in this house on Peterboro

Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals around the city within $100 of today's price: $1,000

We can’t imagine this first one will last for long. It’s located on Peterboro close to Woodward. It’s near the new arena, QLINE, and Midtown. This two-bedroom apartment is in a historic house and includes a gated parking space. The layout is pretty odd, with sharp sloping ceilings. But the location and price will likely draw plenty of interest. It’s listing for $1,099 a month.

This next rental is lacking on the interior pics, but it does have a coveted riverfront location. This one bedroom, one bath River Place apartment is only 680 square feet, but it does have big windows and high ceilings. The apartments include a fitness center and parking, and it’s listing for $1,100 a month.

Here’s a two bedroom, one bath rental in Woodbridge. Located on the beautiful Commonwealth Street, it has nice hardwood floors, it’s close to Wayne State, and it’s listing for $900 a month.

This next listing is a single family house out in Grandmont. It has vintage character, three bedrooms, and a bar in the basement. It’s listing for $1,000 a month.

This three bedroom flat in the Virginia Park area (west of the Lodge) is 1,200 square feet, with a fenced yard, newer fixtures, a basement with storage, and an enclosed porch. It’s renting for $900 a month.
