Rent Comparisons: What can $1,400 rent in Detroit right now?

Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals around the city within $100 of today's price: $1,400.

First we’ll head over to the Tech Town area and check out an 800-square-foot loft in the Graphic Arts Lofts. With this loft, you’ll get one bedroom, one bath, and 14-foot tall ceilings with big windows. Washer & dryer is included and gated parking is $60 extra. It’s close to Wayne State, CCS, the museums, and the QLINE. Rent is $1,350 a month.

Next up is a two bedroom, one bath 890-square-foot apartment in the River Place apartments. This one has 13-foot beamed ceilings, a parking spot is included, and it’s steps away from the Riverwalk. This unit is renting for $1,350 a month.

Next is a one bedroom, one bath, 650-square-foot apartment in the newly renovated Williamson House. Located right in the middle of Midtown, it’s walking or biking distance to Wayne State and many shops and restaurants. It’s renting for $1,325 a month. Parking is an extra $90 a month.

Perhaps you need a whole house? This 1,700-square-foot, four bedroom, two bath house in North Rosedale Park is loaded with character. There’s also covered parking and a decent sized kitchen. This one is renting for $1,400 a month.

The two bedroom, two bath, 1,200-square-foot apartment in Woodbridge is located near Wayne State and has a deck. The rooms are pretty big and there’s extra storage in the basement. This one is going for $1,400 a month, plus gas and electric.
