Detroit Rent Comparisons: What can $750 rent you right now?

Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals around the city within $100 of today's price: $750

Can you still find places downtown in our price range? Yes. The Fyfe Apartments at Woodward and Adams have studios for $675 and one-bedrooms starting at $800 available. These certainly don’t look like the fanciest of apartments, but it’s right across the street from Comerica Park, walkable to everything downtown and the new arena. When in doubt, there’s a People Mover station right across the park.

The Wellesley Apartments in Midtown are close to Wayne State and have studios available for $650 a month and one-bedrooms for $700+ a month. They do allow pets and laundry is shared with other tenants. No interior pictures, sadly.

Located in Bagley near the University of Detroit Mercy, Marygrove College, and the Avenue of Fashion is this two-bedroom, one bath house for $700. Electricity and gas is extra and no pets are allowed..

This one bedroom, one bath apartment in West Village has kind of an 80s vibe going on, with glass blocks galore and white tile in the kitchen. It also has shared laundry in the building and cats are allowed. The price? $750 per month. Residents pay gas, electricity, and heat.

And for $750, you can get a furnished flat at the Josephine on Glynn Court, adjacent to Boston Edison. Utilities are included in this one bedroom, one bath unit (including WiFi). And the listing claims it’s hip and cool! Neat!
