Detroit apartment comparisons: What $900 can rent you right now

Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals within $100 of today’s price: $900.


607 Westminster Street

This two bedroom, one bath apartment in the North End is recently renovated. The house has new windows, paint, carpeting, and fixtures. The fairly spacious (1,200 square feet) apartment is renting for $800 per month. Laundry is in the apartment, but no pets are allowed.


Town Residences, 1511 1st St

If you’re looking to live downtown, Town Residences have studios available in the $860-905 per month range. It’s right next to Beacon Park and close to both downtown and Corktown. The building has recently been renovated with new windows, systems, and finishes.


9430 John R Street

This two bedroom, one bath apartment is in the Arden Park district in the North End. It’s recently remodeled with a refinished hardwood floors, a new security system, and a new kitchen. It’s a quick drive or bike ride to Midtown, and it’s a block off of Woodward. It’s listed for $975 per month. Utilities are not included.


14260 Grandville Avenue

Here’s a three bedroom, one bath brick house near Grandmont Rosedale. It has a newer kitchen, newer carpet, and room for a garden in the backyard. It’s renting for $800 per month.


8925 East Jefferson Avenue

This two bedroom, one bath apartment is located in the cool Art Deco Kean Apartments on East Jefferson. Gas and water are included and cats are allowed. It’s close to the Villages and the Riverfront, and it’s listed for $800 per month.
