Remember back in 2013 when Anibal Sanchez recorded 17 strikeouts against the Atlanta Braves? Those were the days, baseball fans. Now we’re here in late 2017 heading into a few uncertain years of Detroit Tigers rebuilding. After a few rough seasons, the Tigers are not expected to pick up Sanchez’s contract for another year and yesterday, his grand Birmingham home hit the market.

The house is loaded with five bedrooms, a few living rooms, a big finished basement, a massive wine cellar, and so many memories. The house also has a wood paneled den, which once held a lifetime of Anibal Sanchez memorabilia; now it seems so empty.

The house also features many options that a big, extravagant mansion built in 2005 might have: vaulted ceilings, a sweeping staircase, a giant master bathroom with a walk-in closet bigger than some apartments. It’s a lovely house for the buyer with $1.9 million to spend. It’s listed through Maureen Francis at Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel.
