Detroit apartment comparisons: What $1,100 rents right now

Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals within $100 of today’s price: $1,100.

For $1,195 per month, this one bedroom, one bath apartment is available in an Art Deco building at Van Dyke and Lafayette. The apartment is small, but has cool detailing, plus heat and water are included in the rent. The listing says the units have been renovated and they include a Smart TV. The building is walking distance to shops and restaurants in West Village and it’s close to Belle Isle. Cats and small dogs are allowed.

16651 Chandler Park Drive

For $1,100 per month, this three bedroom, one and a half bath house available and located at the north end of East English Village. The house has plenty of room and curb appeal, and it’s close to both 94 and Grosse Pointe. Cats and small dogs are allowed.

678 Selden Street

For $1,000 a month, one bedroom, one bath units are available in the Finn Apartments in Midtown. These renovated recently apartments have hardwood floors and A/C. They’re located in Midtown near Wayne State, shops and restaurants, the arenas, museums, and the QLINE.

601 Bethune

For $1,000 a month, this two bedroom, one bath apartment in the North End is available. The recently renovated apartment is fairly close to the QLINE, the museum district, Wayne State, and New Center. Pets are negotiable here.

17841 Beaverland

This five bedroom, two bath home in Old Redford is available for $1,200 a month. The house is by far the most spacious rental at 2,000 square fee and it has a fenced-in yard and a garage. It’s located near Grand River Avenue and Telegraph Road.
