This gorgeous Palmer Woods home looks like a time capsule in places. It certainly has some of the more interesting roof lines we’ve seen. According to the listing, the house was designed for Oakland Mall developer Jay Kogan in the 1950s. There’s definite potential for updating, but so much to work with! It’s listed for $499,000.

The living room has huge windows and a large corner fireplace. We can imagine some quick improvements could be made by taking out the carpet and the draperies. A butler’s pantry and dining room sit adjacent to the spacious kitchen. The 4,562-square-foot house has four bedrooms, two full and one half baths with their original tiling, a wide-open basement, and a screened-in porch. The house is loaded with built-ins, oak, and charm to reflect its era. What updates might you make to the home? It’s listed through Jim Shaffer and Associates.
