One area of the city where we’ve seen higher prices and a lot of real estate activity this year is Southwest Detroit and Hubbard Farms. This new listing is a little further north than some others we’ve seen; it’s just off of Michigan Avenue on West Grand Boulevard. The 109-year-old house is 2,378 square feet and listing for $259,900.

The home has a big front porch, hardwood floors, a grand staircase, beautiful wood beams and trim, four bedrooms, one and a half baths, and an attic that can be finished. The kitchen is unusual—almost industrial—with open shelving and not a lot of cabinetry. The downstairs bathroom has plenty of room and a black and white checkerboard floor. The listing states that the house has new systems and a new roof. The backyard could benefit from some landscaping. It’s listed through Lauren Bruyninga at O’Connor Real Estate.
