One of the most anticipated developments opening in 2018 is the Shinola Hotel—a collaboration between Dan Gilbert’s Bedrock and Shinola. The construction of the hotel involves renovating the building at 1400 Woodward, plus the Singer Building nearby, and the demolition plus construction of new buildings along the block. An alley will be activated behind the building, making stronger connections to the nearby Element Hotel at the Metropolitan Building and The Siren Hotel at the Wurlitzer.
Bedrock released a new website for the hotel today, along with clearer renderings of the hotel. Now, we get an idea of what the new buildings along Farmer Street will look like. We’re spotting a lot of greenery, multiple levels, all-season rooftop patios, and connections between the Farmer Street and Woodward Avenue buildings.

Bedrock also released a new video with a sneak peek at the work currently underway.
The hotel will have 130 rooms and the developers are planning on a late 2018 opening.
