Looking to spruce up your home with unique treasures? Or are you searching for a gift for a hard-to-buy-for person on your shopping list? One of the most stunning midcentury buildings will host a on-of-its-kind midcentury auction in December. Newly-formed Block Auction House will hold an inaugural auction Friday, December 15 with 200 to 300 midcentury consigned furnishings, art, and objects.
The Block Auction House is a new venture for Aaron’s Estate Sales, which recently handled the Motown Mansion estate sale and auction.
“We are very excited to premiere Block Auction House in Detroit. There is pent-up demand for a new auction house and this is a natural extension for us based on the success we have seen from our estate sales here in southeastern Michigan,” said Aaron Siepierski, owner, Aaron’s Estate Sales. “Certain items need to go to auction in order to determine their true value, benefitting the owner.”
The auction will feature furnishings and decor from designers such as Adrian Pearsall, Poul Jensen, J. L. Moller, Milo Baughman, Nils Jonsson, Dunbar, Blenko, Michael Higgins, C. Jere, Gerald Thurston, Calder, Antonio Grediaga Kieff, Marc Creates, Nils Jonsson, George Nelson, John Glick, and more. Check here for a sneak peek of the auction items.
A preview of the auction will start at 11 a.m. on December 15, with a reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The auction itself will start at 7 p.m.
Here’s a preview of a few of the offerings.
