Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we look at different houses around Detroit all within a specific price range. The price of a small condo in one neighborhood could snag a nice three-bedroom home in another. Today, we’re looking at homes for sale within $10,000 of our budget: $160,000.

In Bagley, this three-bedroom home has a new kitchen (BYO appliances), hardwood floors, one and a half baths, a detached garage, and updated plumbing and electrical. It’s located near McNichols and Livernois, near plenty of shops and restaurants. It’s listed for $150,000.
Over in New Center, this one-bedroom, one bath condo is available at the Fisher-Kahn Apartments. It’s smaller than the rest at 760 square feet, and includes an updated tiny kitchen (with washer and dryer), hardwood floors, central air, and a balcony. It’s located right across from the Fisher Building. It’s listed for $169,900, with HOA fees at $180 per month.
If you’re looking to be closer to downtown, this two-bedroom co-op is available at 1300 East Lafayette. It may not be the nicest we’ve seen, but it is a roomy corner unit with views of downtown. It’s listing for $150,000, plus $1,277 in HOA fees per month, which include master mortgage, property taxes, security, A/C, maintenance, and more.
