We should be saying good-bye for good to the Joe Louis Arena sometime in 2018, as the old hockey arena heads to demo. But before that, the Detroit Red Wings are still trying to get everything out of the building. They held an auction a couple weeks ago and now, right before Christmas, they’ll be hosting a clearance sale.
The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, December 23. Those who are interested should go in through the Corporate Partner entrance across from the Riverfront and park at the Joe Louis Garage. Season ticket holders can get in before 10 a.m. (just bring an ID).
According to a press release, available items include “signage, framed photos, autographed pucks and photos, padded red folding chairs, miscellaneous suite furniture and accessories, pieces of wood lockers branded with the “Farewell to the Joe” logo, select concourse items and much more. Multiple quantities of most items will be available.”
The Red Wings won four Stanley Cup Championships while they played at the JLA. It closed earlier this year and the Red Wings of course play now at the Little Caesars Arena.
