Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals within $100 of today’s price: $1,325.

Right in the middle of Midtown, there’s a studio available on the third floor of the Garfield Lofts. This loft is right on Woodward, near Wayne State, the hospitals, and the Qline. Still need a car? Parking is available for $80 a month. This unit rents for $1,400 per month, gas and water included.

Capitol Park Lofts recently opened right in the heart of downtown. In this week’s price range, we can rent a one bedroom, one bath apartment for $1,359 per month. Units are freshly renovated with a washer and dryer, and the building is walking distance from everything downtown.

524 Chalmers

Looking for more room? This three bedroom, one bath house is located on the Far East side in Jefferson-Chalmers. It has newer finishes, woodwork, and 1,700 square feet of living space. It’s close to the waterfront and Grosse Pointe. It’s listing for $1,250 per month.

621 Orleans Street

We’re curious about this two bedroom, one bath available at Central Park Apartments in Lafayette Park. Looks like the place is under new management? Does anyone have experience with it? (We’re listening on the tip line) Units are recently renovated, pet friendly, and the building is close to downtown, the riverfront, and Lafayette Park. It’s listing for $1,345 a month.
