Islandview is one Detroit neighborhood where you can find beautiful, old, reasonably priced real estate. Driving down East Grand Boulevard, you’ll see some of the grandest homes in the city. Currently, a lot of these houses are either multi-family homes, group homes, nursing homes, or houses that need all the work in the world.

This single-family house, built in 1915, is located on the corner of East Grand Boulevard and Kercheval. Here’s a bit o’ history from the Detroit Free Press.

It’s really close to Belle Isle (hey Islandview!) and just down the street from shops in West Village. And the development that’s been happening in West Village is heading in Islandview’s direction (some renovations are just a block away from this). Also down the street from this house is one that Nicole Curtis rehabbed a couple years ago.

This 1,300-square-foot house has three bedrooms, two baths, an attached garage, and a basement. Could it use some work? Of course. Is it located on a busy street corner? Unfortunately, yes. It’s listing for $125,000.
