Sold home updates: Midtown, Sherwood Forest, Book Cadillac condos, and more

We’ve noticed a few notable sales in the past few weeks. Some great old houses nabbed more than their asking price, where a few sales came in just under. Is there a house you’re watching? Let us know in the comments or hit us up on the tip line.

At the end of January, we found a house that’s a rarity in these parts. A gorgeous Victorian on West Canfield went up for sale and not surprisingly, had an offer that same day. Realtor Jason Hill tells us a beautiful family bought the home (which includes an incredible back story and a carriage house that can be renovated) for $755,000, or $5,000 over the list price. It’s a spectacular home. Maybe they could invite us over?

This fixer upper in Sherwood Forest also received a lot of attention. It was only asking $90K, and considering the great neighborhood it was in and its not-disastrous condition, we figured it would go fast and for over asking. It did. It recently sold for $119,000.

Readers generally weren’t that impressed with this Virginia Park renovation. The house seemed nice enough, although it looked a little cold inside. But the $450,000 asking price seemed way out of hand. Y’all were right. It just sold for $395,500, which is still quite a bit. Good for the neighbors, though?

Two Book Cadillac condos recently saw some good sales. We mentioned this one on a map of most expensive listings in the city. The 26th floor was listed for $677,000 and just sold for $657,900. Another Book Cadillac condo, under 1,000 square feet and located on the 25th floor, just sold for $425,000. These sales are coming in at $463 and $449 per square foot, respectively.
