Here’s what $65K can buy you in Detroit right now

This week, we noticed a few good houses that are listing for under $65,000. From rehabbed and ready to needing just a little work, these houses are coming in from $49,000 up to just over $60,000. Which is the best deal? Here’s what’s for sale this week.

This first house is through the Rehabbed and Ready program and it’s located north of Grandmont Rosedale, just off the Southfield Freeway. It has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a basement for storage, and comes in at just under 1,000 square feet. It’s completely move-in ready and listed for $60,900.

This handsome brick house on Burns near Gratiot is just over 2,000 square feet with five bedrooms. There’s a lot going on inside, and according to the listing, the house has had the same owner for 50 years. It would need some work, but it is a solid house that’s listing for just $49,000. This three bedroom, one and a half bath home in Southwest Detroit just listed for $59,900. It looks to be in pretty good shape, with big rooms and a yard in the back. We’re very curious about the odd door off the sun room, though.

You’ve gotta appreciate the all caps listing on Wisconsin Street, which states, “THIS PROPERTY HAS A NEW OWNER COMING - IT'S YOU!” This house has an interesting facade, lots of character, and of course, back splash in the kitchen. It has three bedrooms, one and a half baths, and it’s listing for $50,000.
