Detroit rent comparisons: What can $800 rent you right now?

Zillow

Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. Last week we checked out $900 rentals around the city, and this week we’re going just a bit lower and looking at rentals within $100 of today's price: $800.

The first rental is a single-family brick house near the Meijer off Grand River in northwest Detroit. The house is newly remodeled and has three bedrooms, one and a half baths, and a garage. It’s listing for $875 a month and it’s having an open house this weekend.

Here’s a 2,000-square-foot, five bedroom, one and a half bath house in Jefferson Chalmers. Not many interior pictures, but it does have hardwood floors, newer windows, and it’s listing for $850 a month.

Here’s a one bedroom, one bath apartment in Midtown. It’s located near Honest Johns, Selden Standard, and Wayne State. Rocket Fiber internet is in the building, and look at that back splash! It’s listing for $850 a month.

Coming in below our budget and even closer to Wayne State is a one bedroom, one bath apartment. It’s 450 square feet and the complex has gated parking. Water and parking is included in the $725 a month rent.

And coming in at $700 a month is a two bedroom, one and a half bath apartment in Hamtramck. It’s a first floor apartment with a backyard, and it’s close to Hamtramck’s restaurants and retail. Rent does not include utilities.
