Last year, we featured the ornate and opulent Adams Castle, located at the end of an otherwise normal residential street in Bloomfield Township. It listed for $3,500,000 last spring, and it’s now back on the market for $1,999,000.

The house was built in 1928 by Richard Marr, and sits on 2.2 acres with a carriage house, swimming pool, and pool house. This is serious castle living, with fresco ceilings, gold and silver leafing, a ballroom, Pewabic tiling, so much marble, and a fairy tale-like staircase with chandelier. The Poggenpohl kitchen looks a little out of place comparatively. Some of the rooms may be a bit over the top.

Perfect for the person who wants to live like French royalty, but also wants to be close to Somerset Mall.

The house has seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a dining room that can seat over 14 people, and garages big enough to fit at least five cars. The house itself is 10,462 square feet. It was owned by the same family for 40 years. Will the right family find it this time? It’s listed through Signature Sotheby's International Realty.
