Auction Watch: Homes in Jefferson Chalmers, Boston Edison, and more

We’ve noticed a few good houses coming up through the Detroit Land Bank’s daily auctions over the next few weeks. If you’re in the market for a fixer upper and you have the cash available, these might be worth a look. As always, you have to be ready to go in renovating them and they’re absolutely not for the faint of heart. But there’s some good stuff left in these houses. Here we go.

↑ This three bedroom house in Crary St. Mary’s (near Grandmont Rosedale) is somehow still standing and has some great curb appeal. Inside, it’s obviously gone through some hard times and fire(s). It’s 1,400 square feet with a big yard, and it’s going up for auction May 9.

↑ The location makes this 1,500-square-foot home one to keep an eye on. It’s located on Parker Street, just a few blocks up from the shops on Kercheval. With so much happening in Islandview and West Village right now, this could be a good opportunity for a handy homeowner to fix this one up. It’ll be up for auction on May 11.

↑ This Jefferson Chalmers house is big — 3,500 square feet — and in pretty decent shape. It’s a handsome looking house and it might take some work to tame that yard. We kind of love this house, and hope the right person finds it. It’s up for auction on May 12.

↑ We think there could be some serious interest in this four bedroom home in Boston-Edison. This house still has its hardwood floors and fireplace in tact, and it’s located toward the west end of the historic district. There’s an open house May 6 and it goes up for auction on May 31.
