Southwest Detroit, and Hubbard Farms specifically, are areas that we’ve seen pretty high demand for good houses. It’s a dense neighborhood with beautiful old housing stock and plenty of restaurants, shops, and parks. We’re starting to see the prices creep up over here. Case in point: here’s an attractive older house in good condition, but we imagine a new owner might want to update it a bit. It’s just over 2,000 square feet, with a large backyard and a garage. It’s listing for $269,000, or $133 per square foot.

The house has really nice wood beams and trim, original details, a big front porch, carpeting, big rooms, and not quite an awkward kitchen, but an interesting layout for a kitchen. There’s certainly a lot of storage. The house has four bedrooms, one and a half baths, and an open third floor. The yard is landscaped and the house has a deck and a balcony. It’s listed through O’Connor Real Estate.
