In early January, a Book Cadillac penthouse listed for $2.5 million. After an unfinished penthouse sold late last year for $1.2 million, we were curious to see how long this one would be on the market and what it might snag. Kyle Swink from Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel confirms that it closed last week for $1.795 million, making it the highest priced condo sale in Detroit.
The penthouse is one of three stand-alone residences atop the Westin Book Cadillac. The 2,500-square-foot condo has 35-foot ceilings and crazy views of the city. We also can’t get over the chandelier in the bathroom.

The condo has three bedrooms, two and a half baths, Brazilian marble, and high end appliances. It’s now the most expensive home sale this year, after the Charles T. Fisher Mansion sold earlier this year for $1.25 million. This condo is located on Michigan and Washington, close to everything downtown and with views of the Detroit skyline and the Ambassador Bridge.
