Rent comparisons: What $975 can rent you in Detroit right now

New, 3 comments

Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals within $100 of today’s price: $975.

↑ This first rental is in a newly renovated building in Tech Town, just off of Woodward and the QLINE. $975 will get you a studio with big bay windows, exposed brick, and pretty nice finishes. Rent includes water. (Photos show a renovated one-bedroom. Expect similar finishes.)

↑ This four bedroom house is one of the most unusual rental listings we’ve seen. It might benefit from taking the boards off the windows in the pics. We’re not sure what is going on in this kitchen, but it may have taken inspiration from the Black Lodge. The 2,500-square-foot house is located near Russell Woods and it’s listing for $950 per month.

↑ This renovated three bedroom home near Southfield Freeway and Grandmont Rosedale sits on a corner lot and has a two-car garage. It also has an interesting room in the basement, and a finished open space on the upper floor. It’s renting for $900 a month, with tenant paying all utilities. It is asking for a three-year lease though, which seems like a lot.

↑ Here’s a cute two bedroom, one bath rental in Woodbridge. There’s a small deck in the back and it’s located close to Wayne State. Tenant pays gas and electricity and rent here is $1,000 a month.

↑ And for $1,050 per month, here’s a two-bedroom, one bath apartment in Indian Village. There’s one gated parking space, and heat and water are included. It’s located near the Riverfront, Belle Isle, and West Village.
