It’s been a while since we’ve seen a truly standout listing over in the University District. This five bedroom house encompasses a lot of what we love about the neighborhood—charming plaster work, intricate details, a handsome exterior, and a basement bar, of course. This house blends original character with modern upgrades. It’s aiming a bit higher than others have in the neighborhood; it’s listing for $489,000.

The first floor living areas have an elegant design, with a fireplace in the living room, a wood-paneled den, an updated kitchen, and a breakfast nook. The third floor has been turned into a master suite with a large closet and a modern, marble-tiled bathroom with a clawfoot tub. The basement adds more living space, with a fireplace, bar area, and separate bathroom. The house has big windows, detailing in the wood staircase, and little nooks throughout. It’s one of the best listing we’ve seen in the neighborhood for a long time. It’s listed through Aaron Fales.
