Perhaps it’s the summer of crazy high listings in Boston-Edison. To be fair, a lot of houses are pending in the neighborhood right now, so we could see some big sales post soon. But many are in the $100-$140 per square foot range; the higher the price per square foot, the better the condition. This house is listing for $178 per square foot, and some of it’s not entirely in the best condition. It is beautiful, though. It’s aiming really high at $799,000.

The curb appeal on this one is stellar and it’s located on a large lot at the corner of Chicago Boulevard and 3rd. The house has lots of original character, which you can see in the leaded glass, woodwork, and wood beams. Some of the rooms have old carpeting, and the kitchen could use some updating (although it has great built-ins). The basement looks like it’s straight out of the 70s, and we kind of appreciate that. All in all, it has seven bedrooms, three and a half baths, original charm, and a big price tag.
