Detroit apartment comparisons: What $1,200 rents right now

Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals within $100 of today’s price: $1,200.

Clark Street

This charming three bedroom apartment is located in Hubbard Farms, right along Clark Park. It has plenty of historical character and a great location. For $1,200 a month, it has a big backyard and it’s walking distance to lots of restaurants in Mexicantown.


4862 Commonwealth

Over in Woodbridge, this newly renovated two bedroom apartment is renting for $1,275 per month. The flat has new finishes throughout, plus a big front porch. It’s located near Wayne State and Midtown. Water and gas are included with rent.


Ferry Street

Over in the Art Center, near Wayne State, CCS, the DIA, and the library, this roomy one-bedroom apartment is available on Ferry Street. It has newer renovations, hardwood floors, wood paneling, and gated parking. It’s available for $1,150 per month (water and parking included).


8013 3rd Street

This two bedroom apartment is located in New Center, close to the Fisher Building, Henry Ford Hospital, and Wayne State. It’s also a few blocks from the QLINE. This apartment is renting for $1,200 a month.


1700 Campbell Street

And further into Southwest Detroit, here’s a bright, renovated three bedroom apartment. This one boasts of an IKEA kitchen, hardwood floors, secure parking, and extra storage in the basement. It’s renting for $1,200 per month, plus utilities.
