Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we usually explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re doing things a little different and looking at one-bedroom rentals along or near Woodward Avenue.
SMART, Reflex, and DDOT buses all run along this route. How do rental prices change as we move north of downtown and further from the QLINE? Here are our picks for the week. Vote for your favorite below.
For $1,740 a month, this one bedroom, one bath apartment at the Lofts at Merchants Row gives the renter a front seat to the Thanksgiving Day Parade and the construction at the Hudson’s site. It’s walkable to everything downtown, there’s a MoGo bike station nearby, and the QLINE and People Mover are close.
For $1,084 a month, this one bedroom, one bath at the Scott at Brush Park gives you access to a pretty sweet pool. This new residential development is close to the new arena, downtown, and Midtown. The building has bike storage and a bike repair station. The QLINE stop is just a few blocks away.
For $1,200 a month, a one bedroom, one bath New Amsterdam loft in New Center puts you near CCS, Wayne State, TechTown, the Amtrak Station, a MoGo bike station, and the QLINE.
For $900 per month, this cute one bedroom, one bath is located just north of Boston-Edison off Woodward and away from the QLINE. It is close to four different bus lines, though.
For $800 a month, this one bedroom, one bath apartment is located among the many Art Deco apartment buildings near Palmer Park. This one is a couple blocks off Woodward near McNichols. Four bus lines are located nearby, and it’s close to Meijer and Ferndale.
